Venue: Studio 2 - Noosa Environmental Centre

Tuition: $310/term

About:

In our weekly film acting class, students develop skills for on-camera performance—from foundational techniques to advanced practices. Through a collaborative learning environment, participants gain insight into the industry, including the expectations of screen tests and the processes involved in approaching screenplays, television roles, and camera-based acting. A range of class projects and practical tasks allows students to work both in front of and behind the camera, offering valuable perspectives from both actor and crew roles and fostering a deeper understanding of film production. The curriculum encompasses auditions, commercial work, television and film scene study, performance across various FTV genres, as well as writing, self-devised projects, and introductory crew responsibilities. Learning outcomes align with the class’s focus on strengthening film acting techniques, providing students with diverse, practice-based experiences that support strong scene analysis and performance delivery. Participants will develop skills in script analysis, character development, continuity and eyeline, cold reading, rapid preparation under short deadlines, constructive self-critique, and increased confidence in front of the camera.

Led by Amanda Foreman (owner of The Next Set, a casting agency here in Noosa) and Ilsa Wynne-Hoelscher (a professional photography and film creative) this class provides practical film training for those wishing to enter the film industry.
